Trails Center for Children started with only 1 therapist and during the first month of operation, we had two clients. After more than a year, we now have six therapists, two consultants and a roster of over a hundred clients. Trails turned out to be a family of young professionals (I am still considering myself to be one), who all have one goal and that is to be part of a team, working and helping children with difficulties in reaching their full potential.

The idea of having a website gave us the inspiration to reach out to more families. I hope that through the articles written by our contributors, some questions will be answered and pertinent information will be disseminated. Included in the site are frequently asked questions, articles written by therapists and parents as well as write-ups about the therapists themselves. I have decided to present the therapists in a magazine-type of article. I wanted the website visitors to get to know them better aside from the usual resume-type of description. I included their areas of interest and other skills. I have always believed that to survive as an allied health professional, one must have other interests since the workload is prone to burnout and mental stress.

The bulk of the articles written in this issue is on autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. We will feature the other developmental problems in our future articles. I hope you will enjoy browsing through our website and we do encourage you to share us your stories, ideas and comments.
