| Tutorials |
Academic
tutorials are offered to school age children
attending regular schools. The tutorial
sessions are conducted to help children
cope with the academic demands in school.
Frequency of tutorial sessions will depend
on the child's schedule, availability of
tutors and child's academic performance.
|
| Evaluation |
Initial
Evaluation is usually given after medical
doctors, neuropsychologists, other allied
health professionals and educators have
referred the client. Informal and formal/standardized
tests are given to assess the children's
areas of strengths and weaknesses. The evaluation
results provide a description of the child's
present level of functioning, observed difficulties
as well as recommendations on how to address
these difficulties.
|
| Counseling |
Counseling
is a crucial part of the parent-therapist
conference usually done after the initial
evaluation or re-evaluation of a child.
This entails the discussion of the parents'
expectations about the program and setting
of therapy goals. Counseling can also be
done during the short feedback given right
after the intervention session especially
for children exhibiting behavioral problems.
|
| Consultation |
Therapists
and Consultants are available for consultation
upon the parents' and doctor's request.
Consultation may involve tasks such as designing
a program for a specific case where a multidisciplinary
team is involved. Consultancy work may also
be accepted depending on the availability
of therapists e.g. formulating a language
program for special children.

| School
& Home Visits |
Trails
Center is a committed and capable partner
in the provision of quality therapeutic
care. Since we work within the context of
the child's milieu, coordination with the
child's family and schoolteachers is warranted
to enhance the carryover, generalization
and maintenance of newly acquired skills.
School and home visits are done with the
consent of the parents and schoolteachers.
|
| Training |
A
mentoring program is initiated for junior
therapists who may need assistance in handling
difficult cases. This program is implemented
to ensure that quality service is given.
Senior therapists guide and assist junior
therapists in the evaluation and treatment
procedures.
|
| Referrals |
Referrals
are given to clients who may need the services
of other professionals e.g. psychologists,
SPED educators, developmental pediatricians
and neuropsychologists. We may also refer
you to schools who are willing to mainstream
children with developmental problems.
