Teacher Shien (pronounced as Shine) has been with Trails since August 2003. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Philippines, Manila in 2002. She also passed the Philippine Occupational Therapist Licensure Examination in the same year. Shien received the Outstanding Research Award in 2001 for the research on "Compliance of UP Manila Campus to the Accessibility Law".

Shien is presently a consultant occupational therapist of three different therapy centers where she is involved in the evaluation and management of pediatric cases such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, fine motor skills delay, global developmental delay, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and learning disability. During her internship, she experienced working in varied settings e.g. hospital, clinical and community-based.

Shien is a proud mother of a newly born baby girl and is happily married. Her other areas of interest are music and shopping. She spends her quality with her family when she is not busy writing reports.
